Safety Information
Use Power supply's which are only designed for medical applications. Use as little light as possible and always switch off after use.

Do not leave switched on for longer than 10 Minutes. After such use leave the unit switched off for at least 10 minutes.

Use of the Optics Over Band
Do not try to force the overband up or down

The Optics Overband can be adjusted with one hand by pressing and lifting Optics Overband Lock simultaneously to the desired position (Up for the "rest" position down for the "working" position)

Controls for Examination and Illumination
Light Spot: Aperture Knob can be used for selection of three different spot size.

Filters: Use filter knob to add a red-free or blue filter to any light spot.

Stereopsis and Parallax: The Stereopsis control below the instrument body adjusts the observation beam to suit the size of the patients pupil (forward position close to patient: large pupil). The Parallax control adjusts the illumination beam to suit the size of the patient's pupil (Upper position: large pupil).

Light Beam: Vertical Light Spot Adjusting Knob can be used to swivel the beam vertically to improve reflex reduction and retinal illumination.

Teaching Mirror: The Optional Teaching Mirror can be push fitted top to the Teaching Mirror Attachment.

Instrument Setting
  • Full down the dust proof cap
  • Connect the Power cord to your power source on the illumination
  • Carry out the following procedure.
  • Select Spot Size and Filter
  • Set Stereopsis and Parallax Control
  • Keep the beam control in the middle of the adjustment
  • Select your Papillary Distance or set to an average position

Optics Adjustment
  • Put on the instrument and adjust the head band Adjusting- Knob (Circumference and height so that the head band is firm and comfortable.
  • Move the eyepieces as close as possible to your eyes. Look at the light spot at a distance of 300-400mm. A small object like a pencil must be clearly focused. The eye pieces are fitted with +2D lenses (Spectacle wearers should look to the long distance section of bi-focals). Adjust the optics so that the light spot arrears centered vertically in your view and Lock the Optics Positioning Lock.
  • Adjusted the PD Setting by viewing the Light Spot alternatively with left and right eye and sliding the eyepieces and so that the spot is central.
  • Remove the instrument and check that PD is symmetrically adjusted. Once set, the adjustment need only be changed if another examiner uses the instrument.

Changing the Bulb
  • Switch off and allow the instrument to cool down
  • Push down and out the bulb block
  • Replace the bulb and bulb lock
